Winter Fest

On December 2, 2017 Guardians participated in the 2017 Winter Fest at Commons Park in Royal Palm Beach. We met with many current and hopefully new members during the event and distributed over 600 holiday bags and 300 cowboy hats. There were sunny skies with a nice breeze during the day and a full moon at night. Everyone enjoyed holiday music from local school choral groups, food trucks, Santa Clause, a tree lighting ceremony, and fireworks.

Heart Walk

On November 18, 2017 employees of Guardians participated in the Heart Walk in Downtown West Palm Beach to help raise funds for the American Heart Association. Over 10,000 people participated and raised $600,000 through the walk and other events held this year.

DECA Holiday Bazaar

On November 18, 2017 Guardians Credit Union sponsored the 37th Annual DECA Holiday Bazaar. DECA is a student business organization that encourages students to apply various skills learned in the class room. Employees from our Fort Pierce Office were at our table handing out information about the credit union and answering questions.

Spookyville

On October 27-28, 2017 Guardians sponsored SpookeyVille at the South Florida Fairgrounds. Children of all ages trick or treated, played games and went on rides. We handed out over 500 trick or treat bags during the two day event.

Fall Festival

On October 26, 2017 Guardians was the title sponsor of Fall Festival in Palm Springs. There were Halloween costume contests, rides, candy and food trucks at the event. We met with many current, and hopefully future members of our credit union of all ages.

    T. Leroy Jefferson Medical Society Community Health Fair

    On August 5, 2017, Guardians Credit Union sponsored the 17th Annual T. Leroy Jefferson Community Health Fair. Local children were provided free health care to get ready for the school year and school supplies were distributed. We handed out credit union material to those in attendance and answered questions regarding membership and other services.

    8th Annual Backpack Giveaway

    Guardians Credit Union was a sponsor for the 8th Annual Backpack Giveaway that assists students from South Bay, Florida. Items were donated by The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, members, board members and employees. The supplies were distributed to the children of South Bay on Saturday, July 29 at Tanner Park. Guardians was on hand to help commemorate the event. We handed out credit union brochures and answered questions to those in attendance.

    Stuff the Bus

    The Fort Pierce Office of Guardians Credit Union collected school supplies for the last 2 months to donate to Stuff the Bus in St. Lucie County. This was the 13th annual event to collect supplies for children and families in need. A total of 6,000 supplies and $2,000 was collected throughout St. Lucie County this year and delivered on July 15, 2017.

    St. Lucie Mets Community Night

    On May 26, 2017, Guardians Credit Union was a sponsor for the first Family Fun Night of the season with the Port St. Lucie Mets. We gave out 200 Guardians baseball hats along with brochures regarding the credit union. As part of our sponsorship, we were able to distribute 75 tickets to our members. The tickets were given out through our Fort Pierce Office.

    Sweet Corn Fiesta

    On April 30, 2017, Guardians CU sponsored the Sweet Corn Fiesta. Local farmers brought in corn and vegetables that were grown in western Palm Beach County. There were corn shucking and eating contests, country music, rides and fun for the whole family. We were the only financial institution that sponsored this year. Employees gave out 750 credit union bags with information inside.

    March for Babies

    On April 29, 2017, Guardians CU supported the WPB March for Babies at CityPlace in Downtown West Palm Beach. We accepted donations from employees and a donation was made on behalf of the credit union in order to help give "a fighting chance for every baby."

    St. Lucie County Safety Festival

    On April 29, 2017, Guardians CU was proud to support the "guardians" of our community — our first responders — at the SLC Safety Festival. The event was held at First Date Field in Port St. Lucie and showcased demonstrations from St. Lucie County and Port St. Lucie First Responders. We handed out giveaways and coloring books for children in attendance as well as information about the credit union to families.

    Street Painting Festival

    On February 25 and 26, 2017, Guardians CU sponsored the 23rd Annual Street Painting Festival in Lake Worth. Artists from all over the country displayed their work on the streets of downtown Lake Worth. Held each year at the height of the tourist season, this event attracts more than 100,000 visitors. This is the largest event of its kind in the world. Our employees answered many questions about the credit union and distributed lots of informative material. Guardians even provided face painting for children both days of the event. As part of our involvement, we also sponsored one of the artists whose finalized artwork is pictured.

    Pirate Fest

    On February 3 — 5, 2017, Guardians CU sponsored the 8th Annual Treasure Coast Pirate Fest. Our Fort Pierce and West Palm Beach branches were represented as we handed out credit union information and told about the CU difference! We enjoyed the live music, vendors, food and festivities with our St. Lucie County members and friends! We also enjoyed distributing our special pirate hats for the children who attended! The estimated attendance for the festival was 25,000 for the three day event.

    Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure

    On January 28, 2017, Guardians Credit Union participated in the 2017 Race for the Cure supporting breast cancer awareness and research. We were honored to support and encourage the fighters, survivors, and those who lost the battle to this terrible disease. Prior to the event, Guardians Credit Union sold special pink breast cancer awareness lapel pins to members and employees to raise money for the cause. Through the generosity of our employees and members, we were able to raise $175! Fifteen employees participated in the 5K race and walk.

    Small Business Bow Tie Run

    On January 21, 2017, Guardians CU sponsored the Small Business Bow Tie 5K at John Prince Park. The Greater Boynton Beach Chamber of Commerce's mission is to "connect businesses to everything that creates success." Guardians CU was proud to support that endeavor to meet local business men and women and show our support for the Boynton Beach Soup Kitchen who was the beneficiary of the proceeds of the event. Seven employees participated in the 5K with some placing in their age group!
